The U.S. Presidential elections are over and Donald Trump is Once Again the President of the United States. His triumph over Vice-President Kamala Harris was officially recognized shortly after 5:30 a.m. Eastern time. This is due to him winning the pivotal state of Wisconsin, which elevated him beyond the critical mark of 270 electoral votes.
With this victory, Trump has become the 47th President of the United States. As for Vice President Harris, she will also make history. This is because her defeat marks the second time in 8 years a woman became the Presidential nominee for the Democratic party. Unfortunately, it will also mark the second time a woman fails to win the Presidency.
Donald Trump Becomes the 47th US President
The remarkable triumph will position the 78-year-old New York real estate tycoon as only the second former president in United States history to reclaim the White House after having previously lost a re-election campaign.
Additionally, political news says he will set the record as the oldest individual ever elected to the presidency. Trump initially secured the presidency in 2016 but was defeated in his re-election attempt by Joe Biden in 2020, at which time Biden was 77 years old.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you. This is truly remarkable. These individuals are our allies. We are fortunate to have thousands of supporters in this extraordinary movement, one that is unprecedented in history. During his early morning address at a victory celebration in West Palm Beach, Florida, Trump stated, “I am convinced that this represents the greatest political movement of all time.”
He expressed his belief that we are entering the “golden age of America,” and he thanked his supporters for their role in his reelection.
Why Did Donal Trump Win the Presidential Elections
According to interactive bookie news, VP Harris on the other hand was underperforming across the country. Especially in swing states that Biden had won over during the last elections.
Support for Harris has experienced a slight decline among younger voters, as indicated by an AP survey. Approximately 50% of voters under the age of 30 expressed support for Harris, a decrease from the roughly 60% who backed Biden in the 2020 election.
In contrast, more than 40% of young voters supported Trump this year, marking an increase from the one-third who endorsed him in 2020.
In key battleground states such as Michigan and Wisconsin, Trump recorded a five percentage point rise in support among voters under 45 years old compared to 2020, according to exit polls.
However, the Republican candidate faced a reduction in support from older voters. In Wisconsin, Trump experienced an 11 percentage point decline in support from those aged over 65 compared to 2020, while in Michigan, he saw a 6 percentage point decrease within this demographic.
